What About Stormtroopers In Your Wedding Video?

If you’re getting married and want something a little bit out there, from a galaxy far, far away, why don’t you consider having Stormtroopers make an appearance in your Scotland wedding videos?

It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but this is exactly what one bride and groom have done, with Sophie Sims deciding that she wanted to surprise her Star Wars-made husband-to-be on their special day, the Daily Mirror reports.

“Jarred loves Star Wars so Stormtroopers made the perfect surprise. When he saw them walking down the aisle he was looking at me and shaking his head because he couldn’t believe it,” the 26-year-old bride said.

So what do you think? Would these make the perfect addition to your wedding? If you’re interested, you can sort your own Stormtroopers out at Heroes4Hire, although they’re not the only interesting lookalikes you can choose to have.

The company also offers Catwoman, Batman, The Joker, Iron Man, Spiderman, Captain America and Wonder Woman, as well as lookalikes from other films. You could even have Willy Wonka or Jack Sparrow put in an appearance if you so desire.

But if Star Wars is where your heart truly lies, you could go the whole hog and have not just Stormtroopers but C3-PO, R2-D2, Darth Vader, Chewbacca and Boba Fett. There’ll never be a party quite like it!

Would you go down this route or are you after a more traditional affair? Let us know what you plan to do for your special day.

High Kirk of Stranraer.

Jai and Kerry.

As I used to stay in Stranraer quite a few years ago, it was great to be back  to film Jai and Kerry’s wedding at the High Kirk and then onto the North West Castle Hotel. The weather wasn’t so good after the service so filming was mostly done inside the hotel, the speeches were very funny and everyone had a fab time. I hope you enjoyed your film, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Prosecco & Sparkling Wine Most Popular For Weddings?

Long has champagne reined as the drink of choice at weddings, but now Scotland wedding videos look set to catch the toasts and speeches with the guests all supping on prosecco and sparkling wine.

New research from wine merchant Laithwaites, reported by the Daily Mail, has revealed this to be the case, suggesting that the reason behind it is down to the fact that there are a lot more modern sparkling wines now available.

At the typical wedding, 150 bottles of alcohol are drunk, including 60 bottles of red wine, 45 bottles of white wine, 44 bottles of sparkling wine and a single bottle of dessert wine.

Wine buyer at Laithwaite’s Beth Willard said: “The average wedding requires 44 bottles of sparkling wine and not only is prosecco far better value for money, we also find our customers say it’s easier to drink than champagne.”

Some of the top wines drunk at weddings include Alessandro Gallici Prosecco, Roche Lacour Cremant, Corsiero Nero savoury red, Il Papavero Prosecco and Il Papavero soft red.

If you’re getting married this year, the bar should be one of your main areas of concern. There are areas of a wedding you can cut back on but the alcohol should perhaps not be one of them. People like to drink at weddings and while it may seem astronomically expensive, offering a free bar – even if it’s just for a portion of the evening – will make a big long-lasting impression on your friends and family.
